Special needs conure looking for a new family in Ont.

Note: This is not a Birdline bird – we are assisting the current owner in seeking out a new family.

Stepper is a 4 year old conure looking for a new feathever family and is located in Etobicoke Ont – new family should be in or around this area.

Stepper enjoyed all things in life and was very outgoing/rambunctious and a typical conure until an unfortunate accident happened.

About 4 months ago he flew directly into a mirror and sustained major head trauma – this trauma led him to stay at a veterinary hospital for approx 4 days to recover. As a result of the head injury he has had some nerve damage to his left leg and it does not move quite as well as it should – it may or may not recover fully.

Unfortunately he is also suffering from some PTSD due to the accident and his relationship with the family has changed dramatically – this could also be in part due to the head injury but his care has been more than the family is able to provide and they are seeking out a new family for him that can provide more attention/care. He was and still is a very loved member of the family but they realize they cannot offer what he needs moving forward.

The new family should ideally only have 1 or 2 other birds in the home as this little guy will require alot of your one on one attention – no small children please and preferably no other animals as he is very skittish/shy which may or may not change with time.
