Pineapple Conure looking for a feathever family…

This little guy (DNA pending)is looking for a family of his own.

He came into Birdline at the tender age of approximately 2 weeks old. He was sold to a minor by a breeder who simply wanted nothing but money with NO regard for his life at all. He was unresponsive and near death when he was taken to a vet clinic where he was then transferred to us.

We have been blessed to help rear this little guy and its almost time for him to continue his journey with a new family. For the full updates you can visit our facebook page where daily updates have been posted along with a variety of videos.

Little nugs is now just over 7 weeks old and is learning how to be a bird. He has transitioned into a small cage and when he is 100% confident, he will go into a bigger one (hes about 85% there!).

He is now being handfed about every 6 hours and is offered a variety of food including pellets (tropican/harrisons fine)which he loves!! had apple/blueberries today – which he also loves and a variety of other foods.

He is now fully flighted and has been making short flights around the room and is learning how to land – he seems to improve every time he is out and about.

There have been NO issues thus far – he is at that tasting stage where everything gets beaked lol he can bite hard now and only does so when he’s eaten/pooped and gets a bad case of the zoomies – he can get pretty silly with his antics lol He is also learning how to talk – says step up and “hey” and lots of mumbling lol

His ideal home would have no cats, or dogs with high prey drive – as he is a newly flighted bird – this could be very dangerous – if not deadly – for him as he will land on anything including your furry friends. He is also learning to follow you – so DUE DILIGENCE must be taken when he is out – lock the doors so noone comes in/our unexpectedly – he WILL fly out that door! Clipping is not an option due to his young age and circumstances.

We would like to see the new adoptive family engage with him right away – spend time with him – hand feed him – and let him begin to bond with you. It will be a few weeks before hes ready to leave, but we would like to see the process begin as soon as possible 🙂 you can visit him daily if you want and we would also bring him to you for day visits.

We will gladly work with the new family if you are not 100% versed in parrot care.

Please research this species before submitting an application and make sure you are ready for a lifetime commitment – he can be very loud so we do not recommend apartments/shared dwellings.

Please fill out an application form if you are interested in adding Nuggie to your family 🙂

He is an incredibly special bird and will bring so much love and joy to his new family 🙂
