5 Macaws looking for experienced families
These birds are located about 90 mins south of Calgary and are in need of new families that have experience with the Macaw species. These are NOT parrots for a first time bird owner.
NONE of these birds are shoulder birds – they are hand tame but take time to warm up to new people.
London is approximately 7 years old (Blue and Gold) – she is fully flighted and a strong flyer even when she was clipped. Takes time to warm up – loves dancing and spray baths and talks a little bit.
Olive is a male military and is also about 7 years old. Takes time to trust and also loves spray baths.
Farrah is about 8 years old (Greenwing) and like the others she also loves her spray baths and takes some time to trust. She talks a bit and also loves dancing.
Lexi is a male scarlett and has a good disposition – takes a bit of time to warm up as the others. Also loves to dance and loves spray bottles.
Mikey is the ONLY Birdline bird and is also looking for a new family (transfer of ownership)and if we are not able to find a suitable family for him, he will be coming back to us. He had a head injury years ago that took a long time to heal and unfortunately one of the birds got a bit rough and injured the same spot again. He will be needing to see a vet.
He is the oldest of the 5 and is probably around 30 or so. He has always had a strong aversion to hands – he will step onto your arm or on a stick but no hands.
All birds have been living together in their own room – no cages – but cages are available. They all eat the same diet of fruit/vege and pellets.
None of the birds have been vetted for about 4 – 5 years – no medical issues have transpired for any of them.
We will be assisting the family in finding them new families – we ask that everyone interested fill out an application form.
In the event that the birds are not placed – they will be surrendered to Birdline and we will be seeking out foster placements as we do not have the space to take them all.
These are big birds and require those with experience.
