Birdline is 100% a volunteer organization, there are no paid staff or administrative staff. Being a non profit charity, we rely on donations and adoption fees to keep the organization operational as well as various fundraising events throughout the year.
All adoption fees go directly back into the rescue, these fees help to cover the costs of veterinary care that ALL incoming/existing parrots receive once they come to Birdline, the cost of new cages/enrichment/dietary needs and special medical care that some birds require in order to sustain the best quality of life.
Fees are determined based on each individual parrot
Hi everyone. I’m very interested in adopting one of these beautiful creatures. God was really on the ball when he made these birds lol. Now I live in Hamilton Ontario Canada so I wondering how this would work ? How far are you and are there other places such as your organization that is closer to me ??once I know this information I will answer all questions needled to adopt.
Sincerely Tamara Whomack
Hi Tamara.
Currently Birdline only serves Calgary and area.
We occasionally do receive requests from other provinces, and what we can do is contact you when someone in your area is wishing to surrender a parrot. We can then get your info over to the owner.
Thanks for your interest in Birdline, and for wishing to make a difference in the life of a companion parrot!
Hello, were a family interested in adopting a macaw. How much is the guardian fee for a macaw? Thank you:)
Hi MacKenzie.
We do not have set adoption fees for our birds. We really are not in business, and have no set price. We are more interested in recouping our costs. Often we will need a new cage, and sometimes medical does add up. To be honest, we are really more interested in finding great homes for Birdline birds than we are in charging fees.
We just adopted 2 parrots. Cookie and Giggs have restored the empty space in our hearts. I do not know 8f you were involved with advertising them for adoption but if you were thank you.
Hi Anne and Steve,
Finally got my new place and after years of wanting to adopt i am able.
If at some point you come across another Macaw.
Thankyou Holly Greshner

Met you guys at comic-con, and during our conversation you had mentioned a bird named George. Can you please connect with me with the details and pics? Thanks in advance.
