Kilo – Hahn’s (Mini) Macaw

Meet Kilo, a feisty little 32 yr old Hahn’s Macaw!

This sweet girl has had her share of trauma in the past few years (mostly stressful situations)and has shown she doesn’t handle change to well and is a stress chewer of her feathers when something is making her nervous.

She has a fear of other macaws and amazons.  The photos below show how she looked when she was returned from a previous home.  The family were amazing but the environment caused her to much stress.

Ideally she would be an only bird with NO small children and no loud barking dogs.  She will bond to either male or female but will not bond to everyone in the home – she picks one person and that person will become her main focus and she will become protective of you.

She is fully flighted and enjoys hanging out on a play stand or on her cage and your shoulder.

She eats Harrisons pellets (high potency fine) and loves her fresh fruit/veges daily.

She also will love to hang out in the shower with you once she gets to know you.

She is NOT suited for apartments or shared dwellings – she can be very loud and her contact calls can be heard through the walls 🙂

If you have a space in your home and your heart for this sweet girl, please fill out an application and we will get back to you!
